Street parking - enforcement and fines

About parking enforcement

Lichfield District Council are now responsible for patrolling streets in Lichfield District and issuing tickets to anyone parked wrongly on streets marked with yellow lines or other types of parking bays or restrictions.

Parking regulations are there for a reason - to keep traffic flowing and the community safe. Poor parking  blocks pavements for people with sight or mobility problems and parents with buggies. It can also block roads for emergency vehicles.

As we already patrol most local car parks, it makes sense for us to look after parking on local streets as well. Parking restrictions will not change, but a team of parking officers, rather than the police, will issue tickets to drivers who park incorrectly.

So, be warned: if you park in the wrong place or for the wrong length of time, we will issue you with a parking ticket.

Reporting bad parking

If you spot anyone parking inconsiderately on Lichfield District roads, you can fill out our online form.

If you see anyone parked illegally (i.e. on a roundabout, or anywhere which is likely to cause an accident), then please call Staffordshire Police's non-emergency number on 0300 123 4455.
