European elections
The European Parliament election in June 2009 was the biggest trans-national election in history. Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are elected for a five-year term. Lichfield District is in the West Midlands region, which will have 6 MEPs representing it.

Parish elections
There was no parish council elections for Alrewas Parish Council and Fradley with Streethay Parish Council as not enough candidates came forward for election. All candidates listed on the list of candidates will be appointed parish councillors.
