Disabled adaptations advice and grants
We may be able to help
If you are disabled and need financial help to adapt your home, you may be eligible for an adaptations assistance grant.
The grant is assessed against the same criteria as the mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) and are means tested. They are used to adapt an existing property in order to meet the needs of a disabled person. The maximum grant available is £30,000.
How to apply for a grant
If you would like to be considered for a adaptations assistance grant, you will first need to be assessed by an occupational therapist employed by Staffordshire County Council's Social Care & Health/Children & Lifelong Learning team. The occupational therapist will advise on the works needed to adapt your home.
To book an assessment with an occupational therapist, please contact Social Services telephone 01543 510300.
