We can collect your bulky waste

If you need to get rid of a bulky items, why not find out if we can help?

We offer a bulky waste collection service, and can collect bulky items from your home for a small cost. Read a full list of what we can collect.

Please note: any bulky waste must be placed outside your property along with your usual bins. We cannot collect items from within your property. 

How much does a bulky waste collection cost?

If you are having just one item collected it will cost you £15.

Any additional item on the same collection will cost you £6.20 per item. You can book up to a maximum of four items on any one collection.

If you claim housing benefit, you are eligible for a discounted rate of £11 for the first item, and £4.50 for each additional item.

How to pay

You'll need to pay for your collections up front. We can accept cheques, credit and debit cards. Call the team on 0845 002 0022 to find out more about paying for a bulky waste collection.

Please note that this payment is non-refundable.

What other ways can I get rid of bulky items?

Find out about Freecycle If the items you want to get rid of are still in good working order or good condition, why not consider giving them away to a good home?

Once you have registered your item on the Freecycle website, local people can contact you and let you know if they are interested in collecting it.

Visit a local household recycling centre

If you can transport your items, visit one of our neighbourhood recycling centres (or tips), where you can recycle bulky items including turf and soil, bricks and rubble, fridges and freezers, car batteries and more.

Visit http://www.recycleforstaffordshire.org/ to find your nearest household recycling centre.

Retailer recycling schemes

If you are buying new white goods (such as fridges and freezers, or even large items of furniture) speak to your supplier and see if they can remove your old item.
