Two free Personal Exercise and Nutrition courses to help you get fit and healthy

Lichfield District Council, in partnership with Premier Skills, is inviting local people to take part on one of two free courses that could lead on to a career in the exercise industry.

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Improving Personal Exercise and Nutrition is a great introduction to the issues surrounding fitness and eating a healthy diet. It is separated into three modules, which include: understanding health and exercise, understanding the role of nutrition in exercise, and planning and preparing for personal exercise nutrition.

Lucie Broad, Community Development Worker for Lichfield District Council, said: "If you want to keep fit and healthy, this course is an excellent starting point. And, if you enjoy it, you could go on to complete certificates in Fitness Industry Studies or Nutrition and Health, which could lead to a carer in the fitness industry."

The first eight week Personal Exercise Nutrition Course is taking place at Longwood School , Allton Avenue in Mile Oak. It starts on Wednesday 20 May from 12.30am to 3pm . To book your free place, call Lucie Broad on 01543 308218 or email lucie.broad@lichfielddc.gov.uk.

The second course, also running for eight weeks, is taking place at St John's Community Church in Chase Terrace. It kicks off on 3 June from 12.30pm to 3pm. To book your free place, please contact Ryan Waldron on 0543 308225 or email ryan.waldron@lichfielddc.gov.uk.
