Reminder to all Artists

Lichfield District Council’s Arts Development Team is reminding artists to submit their applications for this summer's Burntwood Open Art Exhibition - as the deadline is fast approaching.
Last year's exhibition was a huge hit, attracting over 450 art lovers to Chase Terrace Technical College to see hundreds of pieces of work submitted by a wide variety of local professional and amateur artists.
Celia Houghton, Arts Development Officer for Lichfield District Council, said: "Excitement is mounting for this summer's exhibition, and we've had lots of applications for work to be considered. However, there is plenty of room for more, and we are keen that local artists don't miss out on their opportunity of being part of a collective of local art work."
The theme of this year's exhibition, 'I was Here/I woz 'ere', is all about leaving a mark on the world and in some way proving existence. The title reflects the variety of traditional and more avant-garde artists in the area. Artwork could be anything from a view of somewhere the artist has visited, through to work influenced by maps, graffiti, shadows or footprints.
The exhibition will feature artwork by people, young and old, with a local connection. So if you live, work or play in Burntwood, or have done in the past, the organisers would like you to submit your artistic creations.
"You have until 30 June to submit images of your work - including paintings, photographs, sculpture, installations and more. There is still time to get cracking on a new piece inspired by the theme of this year's show. Last year's exhibition featured such interesting and diverse works, and I'm so excited to see what we'll get this year," added Celia.
