Positive Futures

Looking to a more Positive Future

Positive Futures is a community project based in the Chasetown ward of Burntwood, and is managed by Lichfield District Council and Staffordshire County Council.

The project aims to deliver sport/leisure activities and youth work to 10-19 year olds. These activities not only act as a diversionary tool but also help support a healthier lifestyle and promote physical activity.

The project is open to all young people aged 10-19 years old who live in the wards of Chasetown, Chase Terrace and Boney Hay. Positive Futures also takes individual case referrals from social services, police, education welfare officers, connexions and the staffordshire young people's service. It can also accept self referrals.

Young people who take part get involved in activities such as trampolining, water-skiing and powerboating as well as favourites like football and dance. Young people can work towards badges and even coaching awards in their chosen sport.

A key objective of the scheme is to carry out work around drugs education and substance misuse.
