Lichfield Cathedral InSpires Project

Project Vision:

Lichfield Cathedral has been a place of pilgrimage, discovery, delight and spiritual refreshment for over 1,300 years. Its intrinsic heritage value and significance is undisputed. The Lichfield InSpires project has been created to help safeguard the Cathedral’s treasures and ensure that they become alive and meaningful to this and future generations.

The InSpires project will extend the Cathedral’s offering to a much wider range and a greater number of visitors. Central to the project is the repair and restoration of the Cathedral’s stonework and glass of the sixteenth century Herkenrode windows, as well as the preservation of the Cathedral’s many treasures.

The Cathedral’s visitor facilities and education services will also be transformed to offer a more accessible and enriching visitor experience.
