Lichfield Garrick

Heritage Lottery Fund Parks Project

Project Vision:

An exciting project to restore Lichfield’s historic city centre parks. In October 2008 the partnership submitted their stage two application for the £3.919 million that has been ring-fenced by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery for the implementation of the project.

If successful, we hope that restoration works will start in 2009 and finish in 2010. The project will see a new café and a refreshment kiosk, toilets, a revamped playground, and a new bowls pavilion added to Beacon Park. The main pavilion will also be extended to house improved football changing facilities and new offices for the parks staff. Crucial conservation work to listed structures, including Beacon Park’s statues, balustrades and fountain, and the Garden of Remembrance’s gate piers, balustrades and war memorial will also be carried out.
