A series of free art workshops is taking place this summer at Chase Terrace Technology College, as part of Burntwood Open Art Exhibition.
Lichfield District Council's arts development team, in partnership with Chase Terrace Technology College and the Burntwood Community & Learning Partnership, is delighted to announce the programme of free art workshops that are free, and expected to book up fast.
From creating hand puppets and batik painting, to kite making and drawing, there are lots of workshops on offer.
Celia Houghton, Lichfield District Council's Arts Development Officer, said: "This year's open art exhibition promises to be a fantastic event, featuring stunning pieces of work from local artists. It is also a great opportunity for visitors to explore their creativity, and have a go at a variety of artistic disciplines as part of the free art sessions."
The workshops are a big part of the annual Burntwood Open Art Exhibition, which is running at Chase Terrace Technology College, from Friday 30 July to Saturday 7 August (closed Sunday 1 and Monday 2 August), from 10am to 4pm.
Everyone is welcome to browse the collection of art, based around the theme of childhood, which has been created by amateur and professional artists from Burntwood.
The event will also feature a children's art exhibition, Staffordshire County Council's mobile museum on childhood, refreshments, and more.
Programme of workshops
The morning workshops will run from 10am to 12.30pm and the afternoon workshops run from 1.30pm to 4pm.
