Views sought on the 23 projects that want a slice of the £190,000 city centre funding
Now the deadline to apply for city centre section 106 funding has passed, Lichfield District Council is urging local people to show their support for their preferred projects at www.lichfielddc.gov/lichfieldcityfunding.
A variety of groups and agencies have put forward 23 projects, including a community radio station, a community mural, a city tree trail, improving Stowe Pool, a sculpture tail at Darnford Park, and many more.
Councillor Alan White, Lichfield District Council's Cabinet Member for Development Services, said: "We've had applications for lots of great projects, but we need to know how local people and visitors to the district feel about them. This feedback will be important in helping us to decide whether to allocate funding to a scheme, so please do give us your views by 1 June 2012."
Applicants will have the chance to put on an afternoon display of their project, alongside an exhibition of completed section 106 funded projects.
Anyone can drop-in to the free event to find out more about the proposed projects. The exhibition is taking place at the Lichfield Garrick on Wednesday 2 May, between 3pm and 6pm.
From 2 June 2012, all the applications and any comments received will be assessed by a team at the district council, before the final funding decisions are made by Lichfield District Council's Cabinet.

About section 106 agreements
Section 106 agreements are made when a large development is approved in the district and there is a need to provide associated social and community facilities. The district council negotiates with the developers, who agree to contribute to the delivery of schemes. The council then distributes the funding to local projects.
Lichfield District Council secured the £190,000 pot of funding from local developments, including the former Victoria Hospital site.
