Children invited to a series of arts and crafts workshops at Beacon Park’s woodland area on Wednesday 29 August 2012
From art and sculpture, to muddy hands and jewellery making, a series of woodland workshops will be taking place at Lichfield's Beacon Park this August.
Led by Get Out the Classroom, in partnership with Lichfield District Council's countryside team, the three fun packed sessions will offer children the chance to explore the woodland and create works of art out of natural materials.
The three sessions include:
- 10.30am to 12.15pm - Art, Sculptures and Muddy Hands - A fun morning spent creating pictures using natural materials and getting your hands muddy.
- 12.45pm to 2.30pm - Sounds of the Woodland - explore sounds and make a musical instrument.
- 2.45am to 4.30pm - Woodland Jewellery - create decorative jewellery out of seeds, wood and other natural materials.
Get Out the Classroom's Sarah Capper said: "It's important for children to spend time outside, exploring and enjoying nature. These sessions are all about looking at Beacon Park's woodland to inspire creativity and to have fun."
The Woodland Arts and Crafts workshops are aimed at children aged from 3 to 11 years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The sessions cost £2.50 each or £5 for all three. To book your child's place, please call Lichfield District Council's countryside team on 01543 308183.
