Last year the Health (Overview and Scrutiny) Panel of Lichfield District Council conducted a review into the support available to carers in Lichfield District. The main purpose of the review was to identify the needs of carers, the services available to them, and some of strengths, weaknesses and gaps of those services.
As part of the review a series of meetings were held with panels of expert witnesses, carers and young carers themselves, and representatives from various agencies including local authorities, the health sector and the voluntary sector.
