Hawksyard Village section 106 consultation 2012

We'd like your views on how funds should be spent around the new Hawksyard Village development

The former Rugeley Power Station site, is currently being developed and will be known as Hawksyard Village. This development will mean that Section 106 funding will become available to spend on capital projects in the local area.

The funds can be used for social, recreational, community or health projects that will benefit people living in the area. A number of suggestions for projects were given in a consultation completed in 2008 but we would like to know what projects you would like to see in the area.

Projects need to provide social or community facilities and benefit the local area of Armitage with Handsacre

Money is only available to fund capital projects (e.g. a building or a bench)

Money is not available for revenue projects (e.g. running costs of an event or venue)

You can give us your views in three ways:

Complete the online form

Print and post the form to Lucie Ferneyhough (details below)

Attend the consultation event at Armitage with Handsacre Village Hall on Wednesday 29th February 3pm - 6pm

Sankeys Corner Arts Miner Project Consultation (Burntwood Chase Heritage Group)

As part of the Sankey's Corner Arts Miner Project, (known as SCAMP) local people are being asked for their views about where a sculpture of a Burntwood pit pony and miner could be located.

The life-sized bronze sculpture of a pit pony and miner is being created thanks to public donations and £10,000 section 106 funding - awarded by Lichfield District Council in 2010.

The sculpture, designed by national sculptor, Peter Walker, who was born in Burntwood, is set to be started in the summer.

Burntwood Chase Heritage Group, which is coordinating the Sankey's Corner Arts Miner Project with Peter Walker, is holding a public consultation to find out local people's views about where the sculpture could be placed in the town (subject to planning permission).

Everyone is welcome to stop by and give their views at the consultation event at Burntwood Library on Tuesday 17 January, between 11am and 7pm

If you are unable to attend the consultation event you can view the locations here and leave your feedback which will be added to that of the event before a final location is selected.
