High speed rail network

The Government has recently announced details of a proposed national high speed rail network including proposals to develop as a first phase a route between London and the West Midlands. 

These proposals potentially have implications for Lichfield District.

A formal consultation exercise on the principles of a high speed rail network and the suitability or otherwise of the preferred route option between London and the West Midlands is planned for later this year.  This will allow local residents and interested parties to comment.
