Lichfield District Strategic Partnership
A quick overview
The Lichfield District Strategic Partnership brings together partners from across the district, including the county and district councils, business, fire, health, housing, probation, police, voluntary organisations and education.
The partnership is led by the District Board, which brings together key strategic decision makers from each of the partner organisations. Organisations in the partnership develop plans and strategies which take account of the partnership's overall priorities. The partners are then accountable to the partnership for delivering their goals on behalf of the community.
In 2012, the partnership developed A Plan For Lichfield District 2012-2016. This plan supersedes the previously issued Sustainable Community Strategy 2006-2021. The District Council has fully adopted A Plan for Lichfield District as its own strategic plan, as well as supporting the partnership's delivery against it.
The partnership also includes the statutory responsibilities of the former Locality Children's Trust Board, the Responsible Authorities Group, and the Lifestyle and Wellbeing Group, all of which were disbanded in 2011. This means that the partnership has a statutory responsibility to tackle crime and disorder and to work together to safeguard and improve the life chances of children and young people.
The partnership has three thematic sub-partnerships, which focus on specific areas and are:
- Strategic housing partnership
- Business and economic partnership (including Local Enterprise Partnerships)
- Sustainable environment partnership
It also hosts task and finish groups to deliver key tasks/priorities. Currently these include:
- Let's Work Together Steering Group (a Lichfield One Place Project)
- Supporting Families Steering Group (a Lichfield One Place Project)
Lichfield District Council is the accountable body for the partnership and all funding held/allocated by the partnership is done so in accordance with the financial regulations of the district council.
