Award winning car parks: the Park Mark

The Park Mark is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPOs), aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking areas and is awarded to parking areas that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment as conducted by the Police.

These requirements mean the parking operator has put in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, thereby doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their parking area.

The Park Mark has been awarded to five car parks in Lichfield City Centre, including Backcester Lower, Middle and Upper Car Parks, together with Gresley Row and Redcourt. All future Car Park developments in the District will also be built to this standard.
