Homes Direct - a new online choice based lettings system for the district - is launching in July 2013
We work with Bromford Living and other housing agencies to help local people to find affordably priced homes to rent.
From July 2013, the UChoose online housing register, a website that lists local properties for rent, will be replaced by Homes Direct.
Homes Direct will allow applicants greater choice and information about housing options and more control to make changes to the application when their circumstances change.
It will also offer applicants an immediate banding decision without the need to provide verification documents. They will instead be asked to verify their circumstances at the point of being short-listed for a property.
We’ve written to all of our applicants registered on UChoose to tell them about the change and to ask them if they would like their application details to be transferred to Homes Direct. We’ll transfer everyone that has asked to remain on the housing register over to Homes Direct in July.
In the meantime, Lichfield District Council and Bromford Living are unable to accept any new applications or to make any changes to the banding of existing applications on UChoose from now until July 2013.
Properties will be advertised on UChoose until 19 June 2013. We will begin advertising properties on Homes Direct in July, and applicants will be able to search for these at www.homesdirect.org.uk
