Referendum

The referendum for the Armitage with Handsacre neighbourhood plan will take place on 5 September 2018.

The neighbourhood plan was independently examined in 2018 and the examiner recommended that subject to some modifications the plan should proceed to referendum. We agreed with the examiner’s report and voted to progress the plan to referendum at the cabinet meeting on 12 June 2018.

Decision statement

On 12 June 2018, cabinet agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Armitage with Handsacre neighbourhood plan. As required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, a decision statement has been published.

Examination

The examination of the Armitage with Handsacre neighbourhood plan was undertaken by Mr Andrew Ashcroft BA (Hons) MA DMS MRTPI. The examination concluded in May 2018. The examiners report can be viewed below.

Submission

Armitage with Handsacre Parish Council have now submitted the Armitage with Handsacre Neighbourhood Plan to us. In accordance with section 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Lichfield District Council will now consult on the neighbourhood plan. The consultation closed on Friday 6 April 2018.

It is our responsibility to collate all the representations and pass them onto the independent examiner, who will look at them and the plan documents when assessing whether the plan meets the basic conditions and can therefore proceed to referendum.

Pre-submission consultation

Armitage Parish Council published their draft neighbourhood plan and undertook the six week pre-submission consultation required by the neighbourhood planning regulations. The consultation closed on 16th June 2017.

Neighbourhood area designation

We have received an application from Armitage with Handsacre Parish Council to designate the parish of Armitage with Handsacre as a neighbourhood area. The Armitage with Handsacre Neighbourhood Area has been designated having been approved 9 July 2013 (the relevant body making the application is Armitage with Handsacre Parish Council).

SEA & HRA screening report
