Little Aston neighbourhood plan

The Little Aston neighbourhood plan was made on 19 April 2016.

Final Decision Statement

On 19 April 2016, our full council agreed make the Little Aston neighbourhood plan, which now forms a part of the development plan for Lichfield District. As required by the neighbourhood planning (General) Regulations a decision statement  has been published.

Referendum results

On Thursday 25 February 2016, the Little Aston neighbourhood plan received a ‘Yes’ vote at referendum. 89% of those voting said ‘Yes’ and 11% said ‘No’. There was a turnout of 21.5%. The neighbourhood plan will be made once approved by full council.

Referendum

The referendum for the Little Aston neighbourhood plan took place on Thursday 25 February 2016. The Little Aston neighbourhood plan was independently examined in 2015 and the examiner recommended that subject to some modifications the plan should proceed to referendum. We agreed with the examiner’s report and voted to progress the plan to referendum at the cabinet meeting on 3 November 2015.

Decision statement

On 3 November 2015, our cabinet agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Little Aston neighbourhood plan. As required by the neighbourhood planning (General) Regulations, a decision statement has been published.

Submission Little Aston neighbourhood plan

Shenstone Parish Council have now submitted the Little Aston neighbourhood plan (06/03/2015) to us. In accordance with section 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, we have consulted on the neighbourhood plan. The consultation period closed on Friday 24 April 2015 at 5.15pm.

A pre-submission draft version of the document underwent consultation between November 2014 and December 2014. This consultation was undertaken by Shenstone Parish Council.

It is our responsibility to collate all the representations and pass them onto the independent examiner, who will look at them and the plan documents when assessing whether the Plan meets the basic conditions and can therefore proceed to referendum.

Pre-submission consultation

Shenstone Parish Council have completed the draft of their neighbourhood plan and recently undertook the six week pre-submission consultation required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. The consultation closed on Sunday 14 December 2014. The document can be viewed by the following link.

Area designation

We have received an application from Shenstone Parish Council to designate the ward of Little Aston as a neighbourhood area. The Little Aston Neighbourhood Area has been designated having been approved 19 February 2013 (the relevant body making the application is Shenstone Parish Council).
