Walking football sessions for women are starting up at Burntwood Leisure Centre on Wednesday 25 April.
Through Active Lichfield, Lichfield District Council is launching a new walking football session aimed at women over the age of 50.
Walking football is a slowed down version of the game, designed for anyone looking to exercise in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. These sessions are aimed at older women of all abilities, and include a gentle warm up.
Tasmin Turner, Sports Development Officer for Lichfield District Council, said:
“Walking football is growing in popularity and so we’re delighted to be launching this additional weekly session. There’s no advantage to being quick on the pitch, which is a great leveller, making the game fair and great fun for all.”
A fully qualified walking football coach will be delivering the sessions on Burntwood Leisure Centre’s 3G synthetic football pitch.
The weekly sessions will run weekly from Wednesday 25 April, between 5pm and 6pm. It costs £2.50 a session.
