Information and advice on saving money and keeping warm in the home will be available to residents at a mobile Fantastic Home Exhibition in Lichfield’s Market Square on Wednesday 23 January from 10am to 2pm, as part of national Big Energy Saving Week.
The event will be hosted by Warmer Homes, Greener District, a partnership between Lichfield District Council and the charities Marches Energy Agency and Beat the Cold, which specialise in impartial energy efficiency advice.
Advisors will be on hand to answer a range of questions and give out money saving freebies, such as energy monitors.
Often people don’t know they can save hundreds of pounds by changing energy supplier, and access extra money, such as the £140 Warm Home Discount. There are also grants out there for heating and insulation improvements, delivering thousands of pounds to some households, such as low income households with no central heating or broken systems.
Big Energy Saving Week 2019 is a national Citizen’s Advice campaign to help consumers understand their energy use, cut their bills and get the financial support they are entitled to. It is being delivered by local partner organisations, like Warmer Homes, Greener District.
Councillor Ashley Yeates, Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services, Housing & Wellbeing, said:
“Many of our residents will be feeling the pinch after Christmas, especially with energy price rises and cold weather on the way. There are lots of ways to keep your energy supplier costs down as well as access grants. This is why we’re encouraging local people to drop-in to our Fantastic Home Exhibition as part of Big Energy Saving Week, to see how we could help you to save money through our Warmer Homes Greener District initiative.”
Warmer Homes, Greener District can also offer advice by freephone 0800 677 1543 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
