Yesterday evening a number of small controlled explosions were carried out by army bomb disposal officers, following the discovery of a number of mortar shells at a building site off Milestone Way in Chasetown, Burntwood. The A5190 was closed while the detonations were carried out and a 100m cordon remains in place as a precaution for public safety until the area has been fully checked.People are reminded to avoid the area if at all possible and are thanked once again for their patience and cooperation.
