Helping to cut fuel bills and create a greener district
Warmer Homes, Greener District is an initiative to help local people improve the energy efficiency of their homes, stay warmer in winter and reduce their energy bills.
A free-phone energy advice line is provided on our behalf by Marches Energy Agency and Beat the Cold. They offer impartial over-the-phone advice on:
- How to stay warmer in winter
- Problems with heating and hot water
- Fuel bills, fuel debt and dealing with energy suppliers
- Energy efficiency improvements and renewable technologies.

Accessing grants and financial support
The Warmer Homes, Greener District advice line can help residents access grants and other financial assistance to improve the energy efficiency of their home or to help pay energy bills.
Residents across Lichfield District can now access funding for loft and cavity wall insulation. The offer is open to all owner occupiers and private tenants, and is not based on any criteria, such as age or household income. All offers are subject to a survey, which is free, and householders are under no obligation should they change their mind.
Some financial assistance is currently available to help towards the cost of repairing or replacing broken or inefficient heating systems. Residents will need to meet certain criteria to be eligible and should contact Warmer Homes, Greener District for more information.
