Advice for businesses - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Guidance for food businesses

Read the government's guidance for people who work in or run restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes or takeaways.

Reopening your food business

If you have introduced a new delivery or takeaway service as part of your business or you have made significant changes to the way your food business operates then please notify us of these changes by email or call 01543 308729. This is so we can offer you advice and guidance to assist you with your new practices.

Read the government guidance specific to people working in or running restaurants, pubs, bar and takeaway services.

Food business checklist

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have created a checklist for food businesses to reopen safely during COVID-19. Extra checks alongside your normal daily opening checks are key to ensure you maintain basic hygiene standards and recognise areas where more attention is needed.

Alcohol delivery services

We recognise that that pubs and clubs with a premises licence or a club premises certificate may look to change their business model and diversify in order to maintain their business during this time. The Business and Planning Act 2020 has made provisions for any licensed premises that has ON only sales permission to automatically be granted ON & OFF sales up to and including 30 September 2021. A notice advising customers that this provision is being utilised should be displayed and a template you can use is available here. Furthermore, if your licence already permits you for OFF sales but you have restrictive conditions, these conditions can be temporarily suspended. A notice in relation to this is also required to be displayed. A template of this notice is available here. This is subject to any additional restrictions that the government may introduce.
