Trading post Brexit

With a deal having been established following the end of the transition period, new rules apply to things like travel and doing business with Europe.

Our economic development team works with partners, including the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Small Businesses covering Lichfield District, to support local businesses and provide information to understand the impact of Brexit and how the deal effects your sector/operation.

A government website has been developed so citizens and businesses can identify what they need to do to follow the new deal rules. This includes videos and step by step guides, making it easy and simple for audiences to follow and take action if needed. The government have produced a summary explainer to the international treaty with a high level overview of the changes.

Through the use of the website, you’ll be able to find out:

  • what your business needs to do to abide by the new rules
  • what’s changed in your industry
  • information on specific rules and regulations

Actions need to be taken if you:

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is hosting free webinars to help businesses with the following areas:

  • Customer import declarations
  • Exporting: actions you need to take now
  • Importing: staged controls and how to prepare to use them
  • UK transition trader responsibilities
