Coronavirus (COVID-19): Public health advice

We are in Step 3 on the roadmap out of lockdown, which includes.

  • Indoor entertainment and attractions
  • 30 person limit indoors and rule of six or two households
  • Domestic overnight stays
  • Organised indoor adult sport
  • Indoor hospitality
  • Most significant life events (up to 30 people)
  • Remaining indoor entertainment (including performances)
  • Remaining accommodation
  • Indoor events: 1,000 people or 50 percent capacity.
  • Outdoor events: 4,000 people or 50 percent capacity
  • Large seated outdoor venues: 10,000 people or 25 percent capacity
  • Domestic overnight stays
  • International travel

From 21 June, there’s a four-week pause at Step 3 of the roadmap. After two weeks, the government will review the data to see if the risks have reduced. It’s expected that England will move to Step 4 on 19 July.

However, some restrictions will change on 21 June. They include changes to:

  • weddings and civil partnership ceremonies and wedding receptions or civil partnership celebrations
  • commemorative events following a death such as a wake, stone setting or ash scattering
  • large events pilots
  • care home visits
  • domestic residential visits for children
