Council meetings - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Please be aware we have cancelled or postponed upcoming council meetings until September, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

We are looking at the possibility of holding some meetings online during this period. In the meantime, please note the procedure for making decisions below:

Urgent committee/council decisions

  • Where the committee has been cancelled/postponed, the decision will be made by a member of leadership team (using delegated authority) in consultation with the chairman of the committee and lead officer.
  • Prior to the decision, a report will be published on the our website and all members of the committee will be informed.
  • A decision notice will be published as soon as practical after the decision has been taken.

Cabinet decisions

  • Cabinet decisions will be taken by the leader/relevant cabinet member in accordance with the timetable set out on the forward plan.
  • The report considered by the cabinet member will be published on our website.
  • The cabinet member will, where possible, discuss the issues ahead of the decision with the chair & vice chair of the relevant O&S committee.
  • A decision notice will be published as soon as practical after the decision has been taken.
