Harlaston Parish Council
A casual vacancy has arisen in the office of councillor for the parish of Harlaston.
Any person wishing to put themselves forward for this position should contact either the Clerk to the Parish Council or the Chairman of the Parish Council for an informal discussion in the first instance.
An election will be held to fill the vacancy if so requested by ten local government electors for the parish on 6 May 2021. Such request must be in writing and must be delivered within fourteen days from the date of this notice (calculated in accordance with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986 (as amended)).
If no election is requested the vacancies will be filled by the Parish Council in accordance with the said Rules.

If no election is requested, the vacancies will be filled by the parish council in accordance with the Local Elections (Parish and Communities) Rules 1986 (as amended).
Stowe Ward, Lichfield Parish Council
A casual vacancy has arisen in the office of councillor for the parish of Stowe Ward in Lichfield.
Notice is hereby given that a valid request to hold an election has been delivered to the Returning Officer at Lichfield District Council in accordance with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986 (as amended)).
As a result of the Coronavirus 2020 and the 2020 Regulations the election will now take place on 6 May 2021.
Summerfield and All Saints District Councillor
A vacancy has arisen in the office of District Councillor for ward number 21 of Summerfield and All Saints.
An election to fill the vacancy would normally be held within 35 days computed in accordance with Section 243(4) of the Act (as amended) after notice in writing has been given to the undersigned, by two local government electors for the area, pursuant to Section 89(1)(b) of the above Act.
The 2020 Coronavirus Act regulations provide for the by-election to take place on the date for the Ordinary Election of Councillors due to be held on Thursday 6 May 2021. However, this date may be brought forward or deferred by the Government depending upon the circumstances. The vacancy will be held open until the by-election takes place.
Coronavirus Act 2020
The government have issued some new regulations regarding elections/vacancies as a result of the Coronavirus Act 2020.
The new regulations provide that an election to fill a casual vacancy that would have taken place between the 16 March 2020 - 5 May 2021 will now take place on 6 May 2021, however a notice of vacancy must still be published in the usual way.
If a request to hold an election is received it cannot take place until 6 May 2021 as a result of the Coronavirus 2020 and the 2020 Regulations.
