Support for businesses - Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The scheme provides funding to employers to create new six month job placements for people aged between 16 and 24 who are claiming universal credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
The funding covers each job placement at a national minimum wage for 25 hours a week, as well as national insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
There is also £1,500 available for each job placement, to help with setup costs, support and training.
Employers can spread the job start dates up until 31 March 2022. You’ll get funding for 6 months once the young person has started their job.
