Food inspection reports
If you want to find out about the hygiene ratings of local food establishments, and download detailed inspection reports, visit Ratemyplace – www.ratemyplace.org.uk.
Ratemyplace is a hygiene rating website designed by us in partnership with councils from Tamworth, East Staffordshire, South Staffordshire, Staffordshire Moorlands, Cannock Chase, Stafford, Newcastle-Under-Lyme and High Peak as well as support from Staffordshire County Council. The site allows you to search for hygiene reports for food businesses across the county, based on their last inspection. The scoring is based on the government’s food rating system.
The definition of the premises ratings are: 5 = Very Good, 4 = Good, 3 = Generally Satisfactory, 2 = Improvement Necessary, 1 = Major Improvement Necessary and 0 = Urgent Improvement Necessary.
By allowing local people and potential customers access to inspection reports, it’s hoped that businesses will be encouraged to improve standards. The majority of Lichfield’s food premises are on the site, however some very low risk premises (e.g. childminders) which are exempt from the food hygiene rating scheme are not listed, although they are still inspected.
