Loft insulation

It is recommended that all houses have loft insulation to a depth of at least 270mm (about 10”). Some older houses are likely to have less than 270mm of insulation and this can be topped up to reach the required level to save energy.

The Energy Saving Trust estimates that 25% of the heat in a property is lost through the roof. Therefore, ensuring adequate insulation in your loft can save up to £140 per year.
