Housing, homelessness and rough sleeping strategy
Our approach 2019 - 2024
The Homelessness Act 2002 requires all local authorities to produce a strategy which sets out how they will prevent and relieve homelessness in their area.
Our housing, homelessness and rough sleeping strategy which covers the years 2019 – 2024 sets out our main priorities and actions to meet the housing needs of the district, together with how we plan to prevent or relieve all forms of homelessness including rough sleeping.
This will be achieved through the following objectives:
- Improve the range of suitable housing options for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Identify and provide support to those who face barriers to accessing and maintaining suitable accommodation.
- Tackle rough sleeping so that no one needs to sleep rough.
Download our latest strategy which was approved by full council in June 2020.
