|Licence (new or renew)
||The basic licence fee costs £203. If you are a new driver, or if you are renewing an existing licence, and need to update items (for example your medical certificate has expired), you will also need to pay additional fees as detailed below.
||If you are renewing a Lichfield District Council licence and your medical certificate is less than three years old and with CHC Medical, and nothing has changed that could affect your ability to drive, you will not be required to undertake a further medical check until your certificate expires. We will ask to see your certificate.
|DBS Certificate and update service
||£54.50, plus £13 per year (paid direct to the DBS service 30 days after you receive your certificate)
||You must be signed up to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Update Service. This costs £54 for the DBS certificate and a further £13 annually for the update service - which you will pay direct to the DBS service. The update service provides us with any changes to your criminal record which may affect your licence. If you are not signed up to the Update Service, we will charge you £54 as part of this application. Once you have submitted your application you will receive instructions on how to apply for the certificate and subscribe to the Update Service.
||If you are a new driver you will need to undergo a driving assessment.
