View our statement of accounts 2018-2019
Every year we publish our unaudited statement of accounts, which includes our annual governance statement, for public inspection. Our accounts are also subject to external audit by Grant Thornton UK LLP. Our public inspection period runs between 9am on 31 May 2019 and 4.45pm on 12 July 2019.
During the public inspection period, which is in line with the Local Audit & Accountability Act 2014, the Accounts & Audit Regulations 2015 and the Local Audit (Public Access to Documents) Act 2017:
Any person may inspect/make copies of the council's accounting records, and certain related documents (comprising books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts), for the financial year to 31 March 2019, by visiting:Lichfield District Council, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YY
Any local elector*, or his/her representative, may contact Grant Thornton UK LLP to ask questions about the accounts, by writing to:Grant Thornton UK LLP, The Colmore Building, 20 Colmore Circus, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 6AT
Any local elector*, or his/her representative, may object to the council’s accounts (under Section 27 of the Local Audit & Accountability Act 2014) and request that Grant Thornton UK LLP issue a report in the public interest, or apply for a declaration that an item of account is unlawful, (under Section 28 of the Local Audit & Accountability Act 2014). A written notice of the proposed objection, and the grounds on which it will be made, must be sent to Grant Thornton UK LLP at:Grant Thornton UK LLP, The Colmore Building, 20 Colmore Circus, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 6AT
A copy must also be sent to the council at:Financial Services, Lichfield District Council, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YY
