Businesses across four local authority areas, including Lichfield District, are invited to attend an event to find out how to access grants to help them grow.

Lichfield District Council has joined forces with Cannock Chase Council, Tamworth Borough Council and East Staffordshire Borough Council to host a free event for start-ups and small and medium enterprises (known as SMEs).

The Business Funding & Skills Support event will take place at The George Hotel in Lichfield on Wednesday 6 November from 8am to 10.30am.

It will give start-up businesses and SMEs an understanding of the support and funding available to them.

There will be presentations on the Business Growth Programme, which offers grants of between £2,500 and £1,000,000, as well as the Small Business Grant Scheme, which is a hub launched to fund capital grants of up to £10,000, and Higher Level Skills Match, which helps businesses to reach a broader range of graduate talent. There will also be a range of other support agencies attending the event to promote their programmes.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Investment, Economic Growth & Tourism, said:

"Giving people and their business the opportunity to grow is vital to every community. Being able to unlock funding is often the catalyst a small businesses needs to help them flourish and take the next steps.

“I am really pleased this event will take place here in Lichfield, as it shows our commitment to help businesses succeed. I would encourage all those wanting to grow their business to register and come and find out what support is available to help them."
