A recently formed walking cricket group are on the hunt for more members to join them at their Thursday sessions.

Older men and women are invited to join in a slower-paced, indoor format of cricket at Burntwood Leisure Centre.

Taking place on Thursdays between 3.30pm and 5pm, the walking cricket sessions are the perfect way to remain involved in the game and meet new people while staying active.

The sessions are run in partnership with Staffordshire Cricket and are part of Lichfield District Council’s Active Lichfield activities aimed at the over 50s.

Jamie Dodd, Lichfield District Council’s Health & Wellbeing Activator, said:

"We started the sessions in November and they’re going well, with participants enjoying playing the game they love at a slower pace. We now want more people to get involved so that new people can be a part of it and so we can get a team together.”

Sessions cost £2.50 a time and there’s no need to book ahead.
