Council consults on its draft Local Plan Preferred Options
Everyone is invited to give their views as part of Lichfield District Council’s Local Plan Review.
Lichfield District Council is drawing up a new Local Plan to shape how the district will be developed up to 2040.
It will make sure Lichfield District provides homes, jobs, facilities and services to meet the needs of its population in a sustainable way, while protecting and enhancing the area's environment and heritage.
It will also make sure that planning policies are relevant and up to date.
The council is now asking local people, developers and organisations, including parish councils, to consider its draft Local Plan Preferred Options document. This sets out how the council thinks the district should be developed over the next 20 years and takes local views into account.
Craig Jordan, Head of Economic Growth & Development, said:
“Our preferred options documents builds on our consultation exercises and sets out how we think the district should be shaped up to 2040. We’re encouraging everyone to get involved and give us their views. It’s a good opportunity to make sure our new Local Plan reflects local needs and desires.”
As part of the district-wide consultation, the council is holding a series of drop-in sessions for local people to see the plan and to talk to planners about it and what it means for the district. The sessions will run at:
- Fradley Village Hall on 5 December from 1.30pm to 5.30pm
