Lichfield District Council is set to install two all-weather exercise stations at Redwood Park and Chase Terrace Park in Burntwood.

The outdoor gym equipment at Redwood Park will include magnetic bells, a cross trainer and a bench. Chase Terrace Park equipment will include magnetic bells, a sports bike and a bench.

Councillor Liz Little, Cabinet Member for Recycling & Leisure said

“I am really pleased the outdoor exercise stations will be installed in Redwood Park and Chase Terrace Park soon.

“They will be useful addition to the parks, and I am sure lots of our park visitors will enjoy using the equipment to improve their health and fitness.”

Each gym will cost £17,000, representing a £34,000 investment in total. The project is being funded by Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government funding as well as section 106 monies, which is funding secured from developers by the council for investment in local infrastructure.

Work to install the two outdoor gyms will take place in the second week in June, although both facilities will remain closed until social distancing measures have been eased.
