To prepare prospective candidates and agents for the upcoming district and parish elections in May, Lichfield District Council is holding a briefing event on Wednesday 6 March 2019.

Lichfield District Council is inviting everyone who intends to stand in the district and parish elections, their election agents and parish clerks to a briefing at District Council House.

Taking place on Wednesday 6 March, between 6pm and 8pm, the briefing will be a chance to find out about the election process.

It will include an introduction to the elections team, key dates in the election timetable, what would make someone eligible or ineligible to stand in the local elections, paperwork that needs to be submitted, candidate spending, the voting and counting process and more. There will also be the chance to ask questions.

Diane Tilley, Returning Officer for Lichfield District, said:

“It’s important that anyone who plans to stand in May’s district and parish elections attend this briefing. It will be a chance to find out about the nomination and election process in more details and to ask questions.”

The briefing will take place in the Committee Room at District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield.

If you intend to come to the briefing, please email [email protected] or call 01543 308145 to confirm your attendance.
