People accessing Lichfield Visitor Information Centre can be even more assured it is covid-secure after it was awarded the ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard.

The ‘We’re Good To Go’ UK-wide industry standard is a VisitEngland and VisitBritain initiative to provide confidence for tourism as the sector reopens.

Achieving the standard and supporting mark, shows that Lichfield Visitor Information Centre is following government and public health guidance, and has carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment to make sure it has the required processes and protocols in place to safeguard visitors.

These measures include making hand sanitiser available at the door, requiring visitors to wear a face covering, ensuring social distancing, and installing a screen at the information desk.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet Member responsible for Visitor Economy at Lichfield District Council, said:

“I am really pleased all the measures we have put in place to make the Visitor Information Centre as safe as possible have been recognised and that we’ve achieved the ‘We’re Good To Go’ standard.

“This is just part of our work to boost tourism across the district in a measured way, and we look forward to welcoming more people to our Visitor Information Centre and highlighting all that our fabulous district has to offer.”

The Lichfield Visitor Information Centre team is on hand to help with visitor enquiries, city and district maps, city tour tickets and self-guided trails, National Express tickets, Middleton tour and coach parking tickets, as well as offering tourism and events leaflets.

Based in St Mary’s on the Market Square, the Visitor Information Centre is also the place to sign up for the new Visit Lichfield Card, which gives cardholders exclusive special offers and discounts, helping to support local tourist attractions and businesses. The cards are free and can be signed up for online or in person.

The Visitor Information Centre is open from Monday to Saturday, between 9.30am and 4pm.
