‘Move over Lord Sugar’ – exciting new apprenticeships are on offer at Lichfield District Council
Lichfield District Council is recruiting apprentices in a drive to attract new talent into local government.
In a first for the authority, the initiative is offering eight apprenticeships, each comes with a competitive salary. There will be two roles each in:
- business administration
- digital marketing
- customer services
- digital support
We are holding a dedicated recruitment day, on Monday 4 April, for all the roles which will include a series of mini interviews.
Simon Fletcher, chief executive of Lichfield District Council said:
“We are delighted to be able to offer these apprenticeship opportunities.
“The successful candidates will perform important, fulfilling work giving them a good grounding in local government and the potential for real career progression.
“It’s a really exciting time to be joining the council as we are developing new ways of working and engaging with our communities.
“Attracting young people who want to train and develop their career with us has been a key aspiration for members and we are pleased to welcome any local applicants to our recruitment day.”
Applicants must be educated to GCSE Level or equivalent for each of the roles except digital marketing for which A Level education, or equivalent, is required.

The closing date for the digital support technician and digital marketing roles is Tuesday 29 March.
The business administration and customer services roles have a closing date of Wednesday 30 March.
If selected, candidates must be able to attend the recruitment day at District Council House in Frog Lane, Lichfield, on Monday 4 April.
