Birmingham Road site and the city centre master plan
We have developed a new master plan for Lichfield city centre to make sure Lichfield city meets the needs of its growing and changing population in years to come.
The plan was created with the views of residents from across the district, local businesses, partners and more.
David Lock Associates put together the master plan on our behalf.
it includes proposals for the future of the Birmingham Road Gateway site and its interaction with the overall city centre.
the Birmingham Road Gateway site is being developed in phases:
- Temporary improvements that lay the foundation for a longer-term scheme, and make the site safer, more useful and more attractive. These were approved in July 2019 and carried out in 2020. Find out more.
- Longer-term improvements as part of the wider city centre master plan that provide a sustainable development that complements our changing and evolving city and will incorporate the views of stakeholders, partners, businesses and residents. Find out more.
We held consultation events in spring 2019 on the longer-term plan for the city centre and the Birmingham Road Gateway site - thanks to everyone who came along and gave their views.
