Friary Grange Leisure Centre project

Progress updates

We are working with Staffordshire County Council, The Friary School and Freedom Leisure to make sure the licenses, contracts and leases are in place to keep Friary Grange Leisure Centre open to the public beyond April 2020.

We are also planning the essential repairs to Friary Grange, with the aim of keeping the leisure centre open for up to five years. We have appointed Townsend and Renaudon to project manage the works. They are preparing the documentation for the tendering process to appoint a contractor.

Tender for essential repairs

The tender process is nearly complete and we will be appointing a contractor to carry out the essential works soon, following a standstill period.

Pre-contract discussions, contract exchange, and a mobilisation period will take place before the works can start at some point in October.

Our intention is to limit disruption to customers and keep as much of Friary Grange Leisure Centre open as possible throughout the works, with isolated closures through a phased programme, however, all areas will be disrupted at some point in the programme.
