Friary Grange Leisure Centre project

Progress updates

We are working with Staffordshire County Council, The Friary School and Freedom Leisure to make sure the licenses, contracts and leases are in place to keep Friary Grange Leisure Centre open to the public beyond April 2020.

We are also planning the essential repairs to Friary Grange, with the aim of keeping the leisure centre open for up to five years. We have appointed Townsend and Renaudon to project manage the works. They are preparing the documentation for the tendering process to appoint a contractor.

Tender for essential repairs

We have gone out to tender to identify a contractor to carry out the essential repair works to Friary Grange Leisure Centre.

The period for completing a tender has been extended due to the COVID-19 situation. This will allow contractors enough time and flexibility to attend site and produce competitive bids. It will also allow companies that have closed temporarily, to protect their staff and customers, not to take risks by thinking they might miss an opportunity to submit a tender.

Access to Friary Grange Leisure Centre isn’t possible at present. The tender period will continue to roll over until site visits are permitted.

If you wish to tender, please follow the process on the ProContract Portal.
