Play areas

Junior play area

The junior play area is aimed at children up to 11 years of age. It includes a large wooden play ship, a play train, toddler swings and slide, a standing sea saw, an accessible roundabout, stepping stones, a rocking horse and springy chickens. There is also a spiral maze, a wooden fort and two raised beds for sensory plants and flowers. The junior play area is enclosed with a fence and no dogs are allowed.

The junior play area also has an ability swing for children in wheelchairs. It can be accessed with a radar key which is available from the Ranger Station, which is next to the play area.

Older children's play area

Beacon Park’s play area is for children of all ages. It has a basketball court with a raised bank for spectators. There is also a basket swing, tunnel slide, climbing frame, climbing wall, a wooden seesaw, a mini assault course, stepping stones, a tree trunk climbing area, lots of swings, a pendulum swing , a giant sandpit and much more.

Beacon Park’s play area and junior play area are next to the boating pool and golf course. The nearest car park is Greenhough Road Car Park, which is off Beacon Street.
