Apply for street trading consent

About applying to trade on our streets (general trader)

If you would like to trade on our streets (not at a special event) you will need to apply for a street trading consent. Applications for street trading consents can take up to 28 working days to process. To avoid disappointment please submit your application and relevant documentation at least 28 working days before your proposed trading date

  • You will also need the landowner's consent if the land is private.
  • If you are planning to sell food you need to be registered with the local council where your business is based and display your Food Standards Hygiene Rating (find out more ) on your stall whilst trading. 
  • If you are not food registered and your business is based in Lichfield District, find out how to register.
  • Remember, you may also need other licences/permits - such as a TEN fo alcohol sales and/or a charity collection permit.
  • Application fees are non-refundable.

£60 a day for a food stall. £10 for additional days (if booked within the same financial year, at the same time).

£30 a day for a non-food stall. £10 for additional days (if booked within the same financial year, at the same time) 

Annual consents for individual traders for static pitches

£905 on application plus

£335 grant fee

(Total fee - £1,240)

Annual consents for roaming individual traders (such as ice cream vans)

£500 for application plus

£130 grant fee

(Total fee - £630)
