Lichfield City Neighbourhood Plan
The Lichfield City neighbourhood plan referendum took place on Thursday 22 February 2018. More than half of those voting (57%) voted in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan.
The Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined in 2017 and the Examiner recommended that subject to some modifications the Plan should proceed to Referendum. The District Council agreed with the Examiner’s report and voted to progress the Plan to Referendum at the Cabinet meeting on 5 December 2017.

The question asked at the referendum will be: "Do you want Lichfield District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Lichfield City to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
Polling station change
Please note that there is a change of polling station for people who usually vote at The Willows School - the vote will take place at Curborough Community Centre, Sarah Brogden Room, Reynolds Close, Lichfield WS13 7NY.
On 5 December 2017, the Lichfield District Council's Cabinet agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Lichfield City Neighbourhood Plan. As required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations a decision statement has been published.

Submission Lichfield City Neighbourhood Plan
Lichfield City Council have now submitted the Lichfield City Neighbourhood Plan to the District Council. In accordance with section 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 Lichfield District Council has consulted on the neighbourhood plan. The consultation period ran for six weeks from Friday 07 July 2017 and closed on Friday 18 August 2017.
A pre-submission draft version of the document underwent consultation between July and September 2016. This consultation was undertaken by Lichfield City Council (for more information see the section on Pre-submission Consultation below).

It is the responsibility of the District Council to collate all the representations and pass them onto the independent Examiner, who will look at them and the plan documents when assessing whether the Plan meets the basic conditions and can therefore proceed to referendum.

Lichfield City Council have completed the draft of their Neighbourhood Plan and recently undertook the six week pre-submission consultation required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. Neighbourhood area designation
Lichfield District Council has received an application from Lichfield City Council to designate the parish of Lichfield as a Neighbourhood Area. The Lichfield City Neighbourhood Area has been designated having been approved 10 December 2013 (The Relevant Body making the application is Lichfield City Council).
