Nature is central to the character and identity of Lichfield District. Our landscapes, parks, rivers and wildlife habitats support biodiversity, strengthen communities and help tackle the challenges of climate change.
We have a duty to publish a biodiversity duty report that sets out how we have acted on and strengthened our biodiversity duty between 2024 and 2026.
Our report highlights the steps we have taken to protect and enhance the natural environment - from delivering biodiversity net gain through development to improving our green spaces and establishing habitat banks.
Together with our partners and communities, we are laying the foundations for a greener, more resilient district where nature can recover and flourish for generations to come.
We're working to reduce our carbon footprint
Our carbon neutral dashboard shows our organisational carbon emissions, both by asset type (so for example our buildings and vehicles) and at which council site. It is updated every year.
