We have declared a climate and nature emergency and our Lichfield District 2050 strategy identifies green communities as a key priority.
Our carbon neutral dashboard shows our organisational carbon emissions, both by asset type (so for example our buildings and vehicles) and at which council site. It is updated every year.
Our dashboard helps us to measure our progress against our internal carbon reduction action plan which sets out our plan as a district council to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050
An overview of our emissions in 2021 - 2022
Our carbon emissions reduced in all areas, apart from our depot fleet (our waste, street scene and recycling vehicles) and our car parks.
We worked to reduce carbon emissions of our fleet through the procurement of more electric vehicles and a new waste and recycling fleet.
